This review is for our realtor - Cory Laurel within the StrÜb Residential team.
Working with Strüb has been a great experience. All I did was enter the word "realtor" on the Yelp keyword search in Austin and the Strüb company name popped up. I typically go with the most positively reviewed team so I sent an email to Strüb and another Yelp recommended team on March 14.
Strüb responded immediately on March 15 recommending 2 of their great agents that might fit our personality / needs. We were buyers relocating from San Francisco, CA to Austin, TX. Out of the two profiles, we chose Cory Laurel.
Right from the get go, a curveball was already thrown into the mix; I only had a few hours each day between March 20-24 to view homes while I visited Austin for work. Cory was up for the challenge and very positive. We viewed 15-20 homes during my limited time period in Austin, that's a lot of homes to look at in a short timeline. The other little wrench thrown in the pile was that we needed to find a place before we moved on May 23rd. Cory got right on it and recommend the lender for us to work with. She led the entire process and managed our expectations.
The third wrench was that we had a vacation planned for 2 weeks out of the country immediately after my visit to Austin. This meant that all correspondence and negotiations needed to happen immediately. Cory managed it all with such grace that we didn't have too many back and forth exchanges with the seller. It was a very pleasant buying experience for us. The negotiations, inspections, and closing were handled remotely. Our concerns / questions were answered almost immediately during the process. Our lender representative was even present on a Google Hangout during our closing in California. Overall, this was an A+.
Since we were located remotely, she even offered her time to get the locks changed on our new home prior to our move-in date.
We would do this again in the future with Cory.
"We are so thankful to have worked with him..."
In the Spring, we learned that our family of 4 would be moving to Austin from the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband's company. We interviewed a few realtors in the area, and "clicked" the most with Mark Strub. He's very well versed in all areas of Austin and genuinely seemed interested in learning about us to know more about what neighborhoods would be a good fit for our family. We had one long weekend to explore homes (Memorial Day weekend) and with just 3 weeks notice, Mark cleared his schedule on that holiday weekend to spend the bulk of it with us. He made sure we got a chance see all of the areas of Austin we were interested in and all of the homes we liked online - and we had a great time with him as well! After our visit, an unforeseen change in plans occurred when one of our kids finally got a spot in our favorite school and we had to do a 180 with our home search. Mark never got frustrated and just rolled with it, setting up more homes to show us in the new area close to the school (even on facetime!) and spending more time with my husband to see homes when he flew down for just a day.
At the end of the day, we ended up putting an offer on a home that I had never seen in person (my husband had) but I trusted both of them immensely, including Mark, as by then he knew us and our style and needs quite well (now that is saying a LOT!) He helped us put in a competitive offer and land our dream home. Even when closing got dicey due to some inspections that weren't being completed in a timely manner from the seller's side, he was on top of it, making the right calls and getting the right people aware of what was needed to close on time. He was always responsive via phone/email/text to any questions we had along the way and was just all around great to work with. He specializes in relocations and was able to work along side our relocation company (which requires a whole other set of paperwork and nuances) without any issues. We are so thankful to have worked with him and would recommend him and his team! When I walked through the house for the first time (after closing), I just kept thinking "they nailed it". Well done, Strub Residential. We are so thankful for you!
"...responsive and attentive throughout the process."
I'm a thorough researcher before committing to something. I interviewed a few agencies and settled down on Strub Residential. They're a full service agency that uses a professional photographer and stager as part of the package. It means exposure to many sites of not just photos but a virtual tour as well. The stager was great, providing a lot of suggestions to allows us to stand out in the market and compete with new model homes as well.
Unfortunately we did not get to use these extra perks as Alex Tapp, the agent they teamed us up with, sold our house before we could even list it :-)
Apparently all he needs is a "Coming soon" sign to work with. He's been responsive and attentive throughout the process.
We are using them to help with the house we're building now.

"Working with Mark is not only informative, but fun as well. Mark is always a step ahead and quick to respond."
"...he found a mistake in the loan documents and saved us an extra $1k"
Mark is THE MAN.
While living in Orange County CA we had a bad experience with our first realtor who had us put in an offer on a house for $15k more than what it was appraised for and still couldn't make the deal happen. Mark got us the same house for us UNDER appraised value even with another offer on the table. He worked days, nights and weekends ensuring we were kept in the loop while being so far away.
Our first day in Austin was the day we signed for the house. Mark went that morning to check the house and ensure it was in good shape after the previous owners had moved out. Then at signing, he found a mistake in the loan documents and saved us an extra $1k!
If it wasn't for Mark, I honestly don't know where we would be. Thank you Mark for your honestly and dedication to looking out for our best interest.
"Mark is an amazing asset..."
Mark is an amazing asset for selling your home and a great advocate when purchasing. He has great advice and insight and we couldn't have done it without him. He helped to get our house ready to sell and hired a photographer and designer that I am certain made all the difference. He also did a great job pricing the house, it sold quickly but without leaving any money on the table. He then was a huge help purchasing our new house and has continued to be a resource throughout the building process. It is a great feeling to know we have someone so proactive and knowledgeable in our corner.
"...Ashley is a rock star..."
My wife and I recently relocated to Austin. I received a referral to call Strub and Mark set us up with Ashley. I was super impressed with how Ashley took time to answer all of our questions (we had many as things are different in Austin compared to what we are used to). She went WAY above and beyond our expectations. For example, we weren't ready to start seriously looking until March for an April or May closing and Ashley started showing us around town the November prior. Our experience was great, Ashley is a rock star and her team is amazing. The. Best. USE THEM. - Ryan R.
"Thank you for making our dreams come true!"
I had reached out to Mark when my husband and I decided that we wanted to move to the Austin area. His communication was prompt and thorough. After discussing our needs Mark matched us up with Alex Tapp to get our house hunting underway. Alex really gave us the 5 star treatment. He took the time to get to know us and he quickly understood our needs. We were moving here from out of state and had to do most of our communication long distance. When we flew to TX we had a very brief window of opportunity to find the perfect home. Alex picked us up from our hotel and took us out for an entire day of house hunting. He was well organized and had the day perfectly planned out. On our last stop of the day we found our perfect home! Alex helped us figure out how to put in a competitive offer and then tried to ease our nerves while we waited for the seller to approve our offer. Once our offer was accepted, he assisted us with navigating through the purchasing process. Being first time buyers we peppered him with questions and he was always kind, patient, and prompt. He gave us recommendations for a terrific lender, home inspector, and even great places to eat while we were in town. Purchasing our first home could have been a huge hassle but with Alex to guide us through the process it was simple and not stressful at all. I would recommend Alex to any and everyone looking to purchase a home in the Austin area. He goes above and beyond while making you feel like you are his only client. Thank you for making our dreams come true! - Mackenzie P.
